2014 Scholarships

The Armstrong Foundation is sponsoring a block of four-year college scholarships in 2014 for sons and daughters of Armstrong employees. Scholarships will be awarded through the National Merit Scholarship competitions.

On December 11, 2009, the Armstrong Foundation Board of Directors approved an increase in the amount of the annual stipend from $2,000 to $2,500 effective in the fall for the 2010/2011 academic year for current and new scholarships. National Merit Scholarship Corporation coordinates all payments and will communicate this change to affected recipients.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Students in their junior year (next-to-last year) of high school who:

• are the sons and daughters of regular full-time, regular part-time U.S. employees, expatriates, or retirees of Armstrong and its domestic subsidiaries, and
• will complete secondary school and enter an accredited college or junior college as a full-time student in the United States in 2014.

REQUIREMENTS:

Students must:

• take the PSAT/NMSQT in their junior year of high school (dates are October 17 and 20, 2012), and
• complete the 2014 Armstrong Scholarship Program Entry Form by February 28, 2013, using either of these methods
  • complete the paper entry form and return it to Armstrong or
  • complete the web based entry form that goes directly to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIPS:

• $2,500 per year for up to four years or until baccalaureate degree requirements are completed, whichever occurs first

SELECTION OF WINNERS:

The scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of scholastic aptitude, leadership, and good citizenship as determined by testing and other procedures established by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation by March 2014.
