2009 Scholarships

The Armstrong Foundation is sponsoring a block of four-year college scholarships in 2009 for the sons and daughters of regular full-time and regular part-time U.S. employees, expatriates, or retirees of Armstrong and its domestic subsidiaries. Scholarships will be awarded through the National Merit Scholarship competitions.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Students in their junior year (next-to-last year) of high school who:

  • are the sons and daughters of regular full-time, regular part-time U.S. employees, expatriates, or retirees of Armstrong and its domestic subsidiaries, and
  • intend to complete secondary school and enter an accredited college or junior college as a full-time student in the United States in 2009.

REQUIREMENTS:

Students must:

  • take the PSAT/NMSQT in their junior year of high school (dates are October 17 and 20, 2007), and
  • complete the 2009 Armstrong Scholarship Program Entry Form by January 31, 2008, using either of these methods

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • $2,000 per year for four years

SELECTION OF WINNERS:

The scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of scholastic aptitude, leadership, and good citizenship as determined by testing and other procedures established by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Winners will be notified by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation by March 2009.
