The role of the Foundation's Board is as follows:

• Establish policies and goals that follow the charitable wishes of Armstrong, the sponsor of the Foundation
  • Provide resources to the Foundation
  • Determine priorities of the Foundation's constituencies
• Review operations periodically to determine they are meeting policies and goals
• Avoid possible conflicts of interest
• Ensure transactions between the Foundation and all parties (related or unrelated) are conducted on an "arms-length basis"
• To ensure compliance with all legal and tax (including IRS, state and local) requirements

Armstrong, the sponsor of the Foundation, is a global leader in the design and manufacture of floors, ceilings and cabinets. Based in Lancaster, Pa., Armstrong has approximately 13,000 employees worldwide.
